Summer Sleeping Porch Love

Everybody needs a dedicated space for catching up on their reading and napping. I have always been obsessed with sleeping porches even though I've never slept on one. via

When I was a child we used to visit friends that had a cabin on a lake in Michigan State. They had a big front porch and on one side was a full sized bed and where I got to sleep when we stayed over. I loved sleeping out there. The fireflies would twinkle in the sky and the crickets and frogs would sing me a lullaby.
It's a beautiful memory, thanks for reminding we of it.

Connie -- What a beautiful memory. I have some of those sounds outside my house right now along with the fireflies. I loved hearing about your sleeping porch.

Yes, thank you Connie.

It takes a very special place to have such a lovely little nook like this.

We live on the Little Red River in Arkansas. We have a sleeping porch on the back of our house. We have a twin iron bed, 2 rocking chairs and a porch swing. It is wonderful to be out there listening to the river, crickets, frogs , and even owls. Very peaceful and relaxing.

I love the idea of a sleeping porch that is screened so no mosquitoes can bite. I grew up sleeping outside in the summer as it was so hot inside our house, no air conditioning. I have to say though that the bed in this photo doesn't look like it would be very comfortable.
