Attic Bedroom Under the Eaves

I have never seen a doorway like this, have you? It is much more interesting than a dormer would have been. Eaves, toleware, and toile. Nice! I like it. image: Cozy Cottage Bedrooms Better Homes and Gardens

I might be missing something but this is a full-length dormer simply lined with planking - look at the skirting boards (baseboards) and that's a window seat. The ceiling above it has been removed to give height.

Lesleyc -- Here's what I think: The stairway to get to the attic has been dormered so you can stand up. Look at the ceiling fan in the bedroom; the roofline has not been dormered. The roofline has not been dormered above the bench either. At least this is what my eyes are seeing. I will try to find more photos of this room when I have time later today. There are a lot of optical illusions going on here. Smile.

Wow, big time optical illusion. At first I thought just a dormer, then I thought there might be a stairway but now I'm back to just thinking it's a dormer. HAHAHA not sure we'll ever know for sure. And that toile, yes to toile...I love it.
