I'm Missing Downton Abbey Already.

Sunday nights are so special with Downton Abbey. Season 5 is over and I miss the PBS series already.
I think Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes are perfect together, don't you?

Maggie Smith: The 80-year-old actress anticipates an end to her Dowager Countess role. Read the article in Vanity Fair here. She says she can't go anywhere now without someone wanting to take a selfie with her.

... Yes, a few of us were talking about this today. I can't imagine it ending, only one more season. I remember listening to the brilliant Julian Fellowes on Desert Islamd Discs in Dec 2011 whe everyone was dying to know if Mary was going to marry Matthew. It's hard to believe we've been with them this long.

I was pretty happy with the end of the season. At least nobody died.

How about you?

Rosemary,
I agree 100% I savor that series. On Mrs. Hughes, did you ever see the series "Lovejoy" with Ian McShane? Mrs. Hughes played the love interest in a series about an antiques dealer (McShane). It was a very fun series if you can find it on Netflix or something. It's not a period piece but the characters are really fun.

Karen (GH&P) I loved the series Lovejoy. I wish I could find a place to watch it all over again. I shall look. Thanks for the reminder.

Karen in VA -- I think all of us will experience withdrawal this Sunday when we no longer have Downton Abbey and Grantchester. Why did BBC/PBS give us both of these on the same night? Why not wait until DA was over to give us Grantchester? They should consult with me when scheduling.

Noelle...I just found out you can watch DA at PBS online, every episode of Season 5, through March 15th for those of us who have already erased them from our DVRs.
I'm very happy with the way the finale ended on so many happy notes.
