Black with A Touch of White

I don't know why, but this house fascinates me. I want to go inside and check it out. Remember when I was trying to decide what color to paint my cottage and I was thinking of a dark color? I'm glad I went with all white.

It's very interesting inside too. This cabin in Quebec is a rental. See more photos here. All photos by Jean Longpré.

Very pretty. I'm with you, I like the white painted siding much better than this really dark color.

It never ceases to amaze me...people who buy or build a traditional home, strip the inside of all the beautiful architectural details, and fill it with the minimalist look of modern design... glass, sleek chrome, leather.

I wouldn't mind touring the inside but frankly, I find it depressing. The small overhang at the front entrance needed to be painted white so you could find it! ;-)

Interesting but wrong. There. I'm done with my rant, Rosemary. ;-)

I'm glad you went with all white, too, but this house IS a fascinating exterior.

It's eye catching that's for sure. I think the dark color blends in nicely with the woodland setting. I rather like the combination of traditional exterior and minimalist interior, reminds me very much of the Shakers.

I think you picked the right color for your cottage. It's good that we don't all like the same thing, that would be so interesting and boring.
