Mary Cassatt, Snow Nest, and Daffodils Sprouting

Mary Cassatt (American, 1844–1926). Young Mother Sewing, 1900. The Metropolitan Museum posted this photo in celebration of Women's History Month. Don't you love it?

I've had my eye on the bird nest for a long time. It was the snow piled inside that disclosed the location.

I am seeing a few signs of spring here and there. These daffodils will be some welcome color pretty soon.

.. Oh I love Mary Cassatt ... I had not seen this one, ever anywhere and I've been to the Met a hundred times and seen many Mary Cassatt exhibits .... thanks so much for posting it.

She had such a gift for capturing the real soul of mothers and children, not just their features. I hadn't seen this one either. So sweet.

It seems every time I look at your new post(s) for the day, I end up also looking at old posts. I just saw one for Mole's spring cleaning, which is so apropos of being on the verge of spring today. Almost. One more snow to go, then I'll be the one dancing in the sunshine.
