An Old School Photo of Me

This is one of the very few school pictures of mine that is halfway decent. I remember those days being very frantic the night before and the morning of picture day before leaving home. It was always a hair thing. Usually getting a too short haircut the night before or worse still, a home perm. Remember those? I actually have some natural wave to my hair but I always curled it in my youth. Pincurls or rollers. The curls in this third or fourth grade picture look pretty tight as if the rollers were removed and my hair was never combed or brushed out. I had a gap between my teeth that eventually filled in without the aid of braces.

I think most of us baby-boomers can relate to that. I always had bangs and in many pictures they are cut too short which they did in the fifties. You look very cute.

i like your picture.
i always wanted a gap like lauren hutton's!
seriously.
when i was in grade school all the way up until highschool ...
some of my pictures literally looked like i was a parolee from a mental institution.
i have one that looked like it needed a number under it.

Tammy J....That is hilarious. I'm sure your pictures weren't that bad. I have some like that too somewhere.

Bmore Bungalow...Thank you.

It's a charming photo--you were pretty then, and you're still pretty. Good bones!!

if I learned anything from school photos it was to NOT get a hair cut or perm before any grand life event like the first day off to college, my wedding, my children's weddings.
I think your photo is adorable. Thank you for sharing it and the story which comes along with it,

Speaking of hair . . . here in northern VA, it's a drizzly, at-the-desk, must stay on task, hair in a head band, I don't care sort of a day.

May yours be delightful - I know mine will be now that I have my hair out of my eyes.
