Morning Walk with Webster

Webster and I enjoyed some sun and mild temperatures this morning when we went for a walk. It was nice to see the sun, however briefly, because tomorrow might bring light snow. We'll see. Have a great long weekend if you have Monday off.

It's ironic, isn't it? Here you are most appreciative of any sunlight, however long. And we Californians are praying for rain.

According to today's newspaper, the Board of Directors of Brooktrails Water and Sewer District voted at their meeting of January 14, 2014 to impose stricter guidelines -- water rationing. Each household is now limited to 110 gallons per day. Without any rain, both reservoirs will be completely dry in 130 days. Fairly bleak outlook. Hard to complain when the weather is so beautiful but even that is working against us since the warmer temperatures increase evaporation.

The fire chief also issued an immediate burn ban. No more outside open burning, the vegetation just too dry.

A rain dance maybe? We're ready to try ANYTHING!

Love the view from your "back 40" up to your house. I know it isn't true, but the picture looks like spring is coming to New Jersey while I sit here in Wisconsin covered in snow and very cold temps!

Jeannine...It HAS been very springlike the last couple of days but I woke up to VERY gray skies and a dusting of snow this morning. New Jersey weather is very unpredictable. The ground is frozen one day and thawing the next. Winter has returned.

This is such a pretty picture - it looks like a painting! I'd paint if for you if I was inclined that way . . . it should be framed.

It's true, we've been experiencing summer like weather and are doing a rain dance daily.
You do have lovely grounds surrounding your cottage.
