No More Clothes Line :(

We have been having some amazingly mild days recently that would have been perfect for hanging out laundry. That is, if I still had a clothesline. The three trees on the right were taken down after Hurricane Sandy because they were diseased and dangerous. The one one the left is still there. I can't wait to have a post put in so I can hang my clothes outside again. I really miss doing this. The dryer just doesn't leave that air and sunshine smell I know and love. This is an older photo. I think I will like not having those trees. They were not attractive at all and they blocked my view to the way back. I love my new 'big sky' view. I can see more stars at night too. Webster says hello.

We had similar trees that were a little too close to our house. After Sandy they were removed, so now I can sleep at night knowing a tree will not fall on us during a storm, and my vege garden will get more sun. I love to hang out laundry also, but my new HE washing machine for some reason spins them super wrinkled, and they dry that way as well so I am forced to use the dryer to get the wrinkles out. But I can still hand out sheets and towels.

Everytime you write about hanging laundry outside I'm jealous....but also happy that you get to do that even though I can't. I hope you can get that laundry pole put in soon.

Rosemary - I LOVE your laundry posts! So many people would have no idea what your talking about, but I grew up with a clothesline loving mother and totally understand the mild mania. Get that post put in tout de suite - the zephyrs await!

LOL. hello darling webster.
when i was a young bride i hung out my laundry in an enclosed area completely surrounded by cedar evergreens of some sort. i loved it. the lines still got sun but it was protected from wind. and you're right about the smell and the feel. none like it!
