Fall is For Apples

My favorite apples from New York State are in my local market freshly picked and unwaxed. They are 'ginger gold' and I love them. These beauties are crisp and slightly tart and they snap when you bite into them. Never buy an apple that doesn't have a stem still in place. I think I'll go have one right now. See you later. via

You're making me hungry for one of those apples. I haven't had an apples since leaving the US. The ones in the supermarket are imported and non-organic. Not for me. Enjoy your apples!

Thanks for giving us the "Ginger Gold" name. My farmer's market gets a wide variety of apples at this time of year, including some of the apples New York is famous for, and I'm always looking for one that makes good apple sauce.

I've had a incredible urge to pick apples. Alas, there is not an orchard nearby:(

I moved a year ago into a small neighborhood bordered by an apple orchard. There are three apple trees from the old original orchard right near my backyard. They are not tended to, but I managed to get some decent apples from these big old trees. I just cut off the blemishes and made the best apple crisp with my totally organic apples! Now I need to get one of those long pole apple pickers.
