I *think* you can grow magnolias north of the Mason-Dixon line?(I know they are in bloom in May along the fancy Back Bay streets in Boston), but maybe they are not the same kind as in the South. We'll have to make do with the "soon-to-bloom" rhododendrons, right?(but no scent like those of the magnolia blooms)
