Moseley Old Hall, An English Manor House

This atmospheric Elizabethan farmhouse conceals a priest's hole and hiding places, in one of which Charles II hid after the Battle of Worcester. The bed on which the royal fugitive slept is also on view. Moseley Old Hall is a National Trust property, north of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom. It is famous as one of the resting places of Charles II of England during his escape to France following defeat at the Battle of Worcester in 1651.

Webster's Birthday 8 x 7 = 56 In People Years

Today is Webster the Wonder Dog's 8th Birthday. Isn't he handsome?
He got a whole baked sweet potato instead of a cake. He loves them. We just came back from a wonderful walk on the property. This is the trench I'm always blogging about. It handles the runoff nicely. The skunk cabbage is getting pretty tall.
It will fill out a lot more as time goes by. I even saw my first outdoor spider today. It was a quite mild with a high of about 75 degrees. I hope your day was equally nice. The grass is so much greener than it was this time last year. Water and warmth is all it took. It was fun taking my camera out on the early evening stroll. Enjoy your evening, Rosemary. Oops...I almost forgot to wish you a Happy April Fool's Day too.  My Camera is a Nikon D-40 with the Nikon 18-200 zoom lens with vibration reduction.

Liking These Eyeglass Frames A Lot!

Lemtosh | Retro Glasses

Timothy | Designer Glasses

Dannee | Designer Glasses

Lemtosh | Vintage Sunglasses

I am getting closer and closer to finding my dream eyeglass frames. What I really need is to try these on in person. Most have the decorative rivets I like on the outside of the frames. Which shape do you like best? They are expensive but I like them all, each for a different reason. I really need to see the sidepieces too. Not too thick and not too thin is what I want. Decisions, decisions.

Love This Bathing Nook

I love the bathing nook in this classic vintage-inspired bathroom designed by Nancy Boszhardt. I know her personally and she has the best taste! via

Be Glad When People Say No

I would have to agree with this. Something has to be almost impossible before I will ask for help. I love being able to do almost anything and everything myself. I'm fine as long as it doesn't have a motor, then I'm clueless.

It's Not Easy Building A Dream House

Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (1948) ~ I never tire of watching this movie. How about you? Nobody ever said it was easy, especially if you are the architect.

It's Time To Call It A Day

Don't you love this giant clock on this beautiful paneled wall? I think it's absolutely wonderful. Nothing else is necessary and would be overpowered by this timepiece anyway. You wouldn't have any excuse for being late if you lived in this household, would you? I'm tuckered out from dealing with this dreadful weather today. See you tomorrow. Goodnight, Rosemary.

Ancient English Village

I would so love to be here in this ancient village today. I wouldn't even mind if it were raining.

Life's Little Instruction Book | Volume II | Page 7

It's always a shame when family traditions go down the drain, isn't it? It really is worth the effort to keep them going...so push on.

Beautiful Climbing Roses

Aren't these climbing roses beautiful on this carriage house?

There are no words for the wind and rain at my house today. Webster and I just got back from our morning walk to check our trenches. They are all working nicely because I cleaned out all the leaves yesterday. All the water is going away from the house and this is a good thing. Hope you are nice and dry at your house. We've had a lot of rain lately and it's only March. What will April bring?
