Office with Lots of Bookshelves
If I were designing an office from scratch this might be the one. I can picture myself in this space paying bills, blogging, playing on the computer, addressing Christmas cards, listening to Christmas music and flipping through books. All of my favorite modern volumes on architecture and interior design could live there. My collection of antiquarian books with fine bindings would be in the library with a wood burning fireplace.

Busy Pileated Woodpecker
Every morning I wake up to the sound of this big guy hammering away at a tree near my bedroom window. I think I have a while before he takes this one down and it comes crashing on my roof. These big Woody Woodpeckers give me a thrill each time I spot one. Luckily my camera was handy yesterday when he came calling. I'm off to an office meeting this morning. See you later . . . it's very cold this morning. Brrr.

Help - Young Skater with Safety Cushion
This is the best photo I've seen in about a million years. "Dutch boy with a pillow strapped on his backside in order to soften the falling on ice while skating." The Netherlands, 1933 via Flickr

Lone Tree In The Snow
"This photo from Sycamore Gap is probably the most photographed tree in the UK . . . featured in the movie Robin Hood Prince of Thieves."
Absolutely breathtaking, isn't it?
I know many of you are buried in the snow right now. We are having heavy rain at the cottage today. It was beautiful yesterday; I washed a big load of Webster's blankets and hung them outside on the line. The house smelled like sunshine when I brought them inside late in the day. Webster was thrilled to have his favorite one on his dog bed. He loves clean things.
Stay warm and enjoy your Sunday.

Big Sheep, Little Lamb
Have you ever seen so much wool on one sheep?
Did they shave her face just so she could see her beautiful lamb?
So sweet. xo
Remembering The Less Fortunate
This vintage Christmas card is a reminder to remember the less fortunate. I am sending out my annual donation to a local food pantry today so others who are having financial difficulties can put something special on their holiday table.
Christmas Lane | A Vintage Postcard
We've all been down this lane in our imaginations. I'm glad the dog got to go along too. Have a wonderful weekend.

Dog Waiting for Santa [Video]
I posted this video last year and it continues to be one of my favorites. You won't believe how smart this little Jack Russell Terrier is and you'll love watching him leave treats for Santa. At the end of this charming video there is an opportunity to download the photo as wallpaper.
Webster would not have this much self control. He would have gobbled down that plate of cookies in a flash and that would have been his Christmas present.
