Happy Friday. I woke up to rain this morning. Thankfully I mowed on Wednesday and Thursday for at least 4 hours each day...maybe more. I can't tell you how good it is to be "back in the saddle again" after being without my riding mower for way too long. The grass was so long in my middle field that I had to put the blade up as high as it would go. I don't keep the whole property clipped way down since I enjoy seeing what will come up in the way of wildflowers and weeds. Today is the last day of July I am already starting to think about the leaf season. I want to get everything ready for fall. I hope I can pace myself to do just a little every day instead of killing myself the way I usually do.
The cleomes have gone wild and are coming up everywhere spilling over into the driveway. I didn't plant a single one...they are all volunteers from a patch I planted 5 years ago. They reseed like wildfire...looking very much like exploding fireworks when they are in full bloom.
