Pain Nourishes Courage
This is so true. The pain you've endured in life helps you to bravely cope with adversity. Parents can't protect their children from everything no matter how hard they try.

Wine Cellar Hatch in Kitchen
A see-thru hatch door in the kitchen floor that opens to a combination spiral staircase / wine storage room / wine cellar. How very novel and interesting. Beautiful too. Available from: http://www.spiralcellars.co.uk/

Dogs Are Not Good Painter's Helpers
I can just hear it now, "Madam, please remove your dog." Hopefully this would be the case rather than crash, splash. My living room ceiling needs to be painted because of one blemish that drives me crazy in a certain light. It's not a leak or anything...just something I tried to fix myself and succeeded in making it worse. I have plaster ceilings. I don't know that I'll ever have it done since painting is my least favorite thing in the whole wide world, either done by me or hired out. It is so disruptive. But well worth the effort once it's done. Here's hoping you get the first day of the work week off to a good start. Rosemary

Great Valentine For A Birder
I have been trying to weed out some photos saved to my computer. I just ran across this one and though it was nice. It would be a great valentine to give to a birder. Don't forget to feed your fine feathered friends, especially if you got a lot of snow.

Amazing English House and Garden
England is without a doubt the best place to see amazing old houses with beautiful gardens. I always loved walking around peeking into private spaces. Especially on a misty day. People were always looked puzzled when I told them their back yards were beautiful. They would always say...Oh, you must mean the garden.
Amazing Library
I have no idea where this is. It is absolutely an amazing building full of books. Bookstore? Library? University? What? Where? Private? Public? I'd love to be turned loose there to browse to my heart's content. Actually the velum bindings on the table would be perfect to start with. True happiness exists within those walls. Have a nice Sunday. Rosemary

Knitted Dog Toy | Woof
This has got to be the cutest knitted toy dog I've ever seen. I would not dare give anything like this to Webster the wonder dog because he would snag it immediately with his nails. He'd love it though and smother it with kisses. Unfortunately I can't furnish any instructions other than pointing you towards the website where I found it. http://blog.plymouthyarn.com/ Go to the site and type "dog toy" in the search box and it will come up after you scroll down a bit. This would be a great project for a new baby or favorite toddler and I'm sure it would end up being cherished. I love the "spot" on his eye and his blanket-stitched ears and back seam. He's the perfect pet...quiet, housebroken, and he doesn't eat much. WOOF. To a good home only, please!
Thought For The Day
Emma Watson | Fair-Trade Ethical Clothing Fan
'Rather than give cash to charities you can help people in poorer countries by buying the clothes they make,' says Harry Potter star Emma Watson, who's lending her considerable fashion savvy - and the modelling talents of friends - to a covetable new fair-trade clothing range. Read more. The more I learn about this lovely young lady, the more I like her. A shining star indeed with a conscience too. http://peopletree.co.uk/ (fair-trade and organic fashion)

Emma Watson | Hollywood's Top Female Money Maker
Emma Watson is the #1 lady on Vanity Fair's List of 40 Biggest Moneymakers. She's only 19 and she made it to the top of the list ahead of Reese Witherspoon, Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston. Emma earned $30 million for her role in the final Harry Potter film. I like her so much. She seems to be very grounded and I think she will be around for many years to come. It's well-deserved success for a lovely young girl who has grown up behind the camera's lens. Fanpix image.
Weekend Reading
This wonderfully creative ad from Neilson Dairy promotes reading, going to the library, and drinking milk for a strong body and mind. I like it. It reminds me of my childhood. This young girl in in for some great reading. Luckily it appears to be summer and hopefully school is out.
Have a great weekend. Try to find a good book and escape. xo, Rosemary
