Colorful Maple Leaves Reflected

The glowing maples in the woods next to my cottage look prettier reflected on my car windows than they do in person. They look like they are on fire!

PS: I posted about a great 2007 movie I watched recently called The Water Horse. I found the complete movie on YouTube. WATCH IT HERE. Yay!

Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee

So lovely. I am looking forward to fall in New Jersey. We are already getting some color in the maple trees. photo source

Spectacular Fall Topiary - Wales

A beautiful scene in the UK. I don't think we have this tree/shrub in the US. Isn't it spectacular? via

The Path by Kirsten Karius

I love this photograph of a path winding around giant tree trunks. What a wonderful place to get lost.

So Many Acorns This Year

I have bumper crops of acorns and chestnuts this year. The squirrels and chipmunks are overjoyed. Please tell me this is not a prediction for another winter like last year. I certainly hope not. via

Happy Last Day of Summer

A lovely late summer scene in Budapest Hungary. via Are you excited about the first full day of Fall tomorrow? The Virginia creeper is turning red and I'm starting to see color in the maple trees. Fall is right on schedule. xo

A Beautiful Forest Floor

This is gorgeous. I love the ground cover. Mother Nature isn't so neat in my neck of the woods. One of my neighbors saw a bear on our street a couple of weeks ago and I found evidence that he was on my property too. Bear Poo! Exciting and scary. I hope I never see the bear up close. I'm happy all of my wild raspberries are gone. I'm sure he was just passing through looking for something to eat. via

Lovely House - Late Summer and Early Fall

The window boxes say summer but the trees say fall. This photo shows the best of both. I love the brick and cobblestone walk.  Absolutely stunning! via
We are having the coolest August I can ever remember. It feels more like late September. I'm not complaining but it makes me realize summer's almost over. Slow down August, I'm not ready to say goodbye to you quite yet. xo

First Autumn Leaf of 2014

I'm always surprised when I see an autumn leaf in the middle of the summer. It is my understanding that real farmers start getting ready for fall right after July 4th so I suppose this leaf is right on time.

Pink Dogwood Blossoms

I took this photo on Thursday while on a real estate appointment in a customer's front yard. Don't you adore pink dogwood trees. It's cool and sunny after a day of rain yesterday. I have SO much to do outside. Have a great weekend. xo

My Trees are Budding

The trees in the woods are starting to look like an impressionist painting. Is there anything prettier than spring green? I think not!

Melting Evergreen

Almost all of the snow has melted around here except for a little bit here and there that's waiting for more later in the week. I want to clean out my refrigerator and get all new food for the new year. Doesn't that sound like a good idea? Webster is almost out of kibble so he will get a new bag for 2014. Wow, that's the first time I have typed next year's date and it's right around the corner too. I don't have snow on my spruce trees today -- I took this photo a while back. See you later.

Blue Spruce at My Cottage

I planted this towering tree as a seedling about 20 years ago. When I moved here I had a tree company bring a grove of "my" trees and transplant them. They all made it and now they shield my cottage from the road.

An Apple A Day

This looks like a good one, doesn't it? It's ripening on the tree in England. via

We had a dusting of snow this morning and it's a very gray day.

Guess who doesn't care?

The Trees are Bare

It's very windy outside tonight (actually it's howling down the chimney) and the few remaining leaves will probably be gone tomorrow. Hope you had a nice weekend. I certainly did. This photo is from the inside of my newly painted fence looking out. xo, Rosemary
