No Thanks, I Prefer Indoor Plumbing

I thank my lucky stars that I never had an out house. I'm an indoor plumbing girl all the way.

Smell The Flower

This is a picture of me when I was a baby holding up a flower for the photographer to smell. I think my grandmother probably made the romper and embroidered the dog on the front. I miss those wavy edges on old pictures, don't you? Someone should make a paper cutter that replicates that edge. I wish I had an old one. Notice I tagged my photo under antiques.

It's Not Easy Building A Dream House

Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (1948) ~ I never tire of watching this movie. How about you? Nobody ever said it was easy, especially if you are the architect.

Drive-In Movies At Home

I still miss drive-in movies, don't you? Nothing else comes close. Wouldn't you love to have this at your house? I remember seeing this long ago and was happy to be reminded of it again today. Someone actually has this on the back side of their house. Too cool for words.

And while we are on the subject, I miss drive-in restaurants too complete with delivery persons on roller skates. I wish someone would open one near me. I think it would be a big hit.

Thanksgiving Day 2009

Norman Rockwell "Freedom from Want" Saturday Evening Post cover March 6, 1943. All of my childhood Thanksgivings were like this. Have a wonderful holiday, I know I will. The cottage smells absolutely wonderful! Wishing all of you an old-fashioned Thanksgiving.
