Tin Tub Pool

How to have a pool when you can't have a pool. This is wonderful. I'd love to have one in my back yard on a hot summer spring day. Anytime the thermometer get past 80° it's already too hot for me. The mercury is getting very close at 77° right now. via

Santa Barbara Residence

Wouldn't it be fun to ride that trike into the house and back outside again in a big circle. It appears to be set up that way, doesn't it? I like this very inviting home designed by Noyes Architecture. via

Clothespins and Pinecones

Just playing around with overlays on PicMonkey having fun. After the hurricane I had to cut down the other tree holding up my clothes line. When spring comes I will put in a post because I miss it very much.

Gardening Motif Etching

I have so much outside work to do but decided to make a garden-motif etching instead. I love it and hope you do too. I have to put all of my watering cans in the garage soon so they don't collect water that expands when it freezes causing them to leak. I learned this the hard way.

I Made Some Dog Money for Webster

Now all he needs is a wallet. I'm having so much fun with my new app. I took an iPad photo of a 1922 bronze dog medal in my collection and turned it into a Dog Dollar.

I made an etching from a photo

I'm having fun playing with an app called ETCHINGS I bought this morning for 99¢. This is the July 4th photo I made in my kitchen transformed with the app. There are lots of other possibilities too. This is now used to celebrate the Labor Day holiday.

Wonderful Airstream Campsite

This is a wonderful image, isn't it? Do these people camp at the same spot every year, thus the hollyhocks? I love the awnings. I've always thought this would be the perfect way to travel...with your bed always with you. Have you ever camped or vacationed in an airstream? via

Old-Fashioned Summer Fun: Diving Dock

Goodness. I would have loved something like this as a kid. Have you ever seen anything more dangerous looking? Or more fun? Unfortunately, those carefree days of summer are gone forever. This must be a very old photograph because the men's suits have tops.  via

1809 Invitation to a Pleasure Ball

"While we live, let us LIVE."
I love this quote.
Oh, the excitement of receiving this invitation to a PLEASURE BALL. Miss Lydia Goulet's heart must have been racing at the prospect of an early afternoon dance until an undetermined hour. Would Mr. Darcy be there? I wonder if Jane Austen was invited too? I looked it up and May 30, 1809 was on a Tuesday. How odd, that doesn't sound very exciting at all now. But maybe it was. I can hear Maggie Smith's voice in my head saying...WHAT is a weekend? I guess everyday was a Saturday to a certain class. via

Walled Croquet Lawn with an Outbuilding

A croquet lawn within a high ivy covered wall with a delightful little building for storing the croquet set and garden garden tools plus a cute little dog. It doesn't get better than that, does it? I grew up playing croquet and have never gotten over my love of the game. via
