Happy 2012
January 1, 2012 I scanned a decorative alphabet from one of my old books and made this greeting last year. I still like it too. The first morning of the year is mild and beautiful here at the cottage and the coffee is wonderful. My New Year is off to a perfect start. Hope yours is too.

I love this wall and the rest of the delightful room too. If you were an art lover you could stencil the names of artists you admire. via

Amazing Chalkboard Art
I am so impressed with the artistic talent of Dana Tanamachi and the amazing things she creates on chalkboards. I wonder if she has ever considered designing fonts too? When you open the link click on the first image and use the arrows to go forward. She designed the image I pictured above for a wedding reception.

Less is More
I am feeling very overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I own. Cleaning out closets and cupboards and feeling like a hoarder. Less is the word of the day. «

This quote made me smile. I often say Webster is just like a person and I must stop. He's way smarter. Designed with a free font you might want to download.

Vintage Mother Goose Alphabet To Cut and Paste
Isn't this vintage Mother Goose alphabet wonderful? It's from the early 20th century and I know you'll have fun with it. Click to enlarge the image.
Cut and paste with your scissors or your photo editing software. This would be good for creating an advent calendar for the upcoming Christmas season too. I'm sure you will think of many other handcrafted items to make using it. I scanned this pictorial alphabet from one of my antiquarian books on Historic Alphabets and Initials. Other alphabets available here.
