Puppy Love
Age 4 Weeks [Christmas and New Year card depicting portrait of dog with stick and brick wall].
Don't you just want to pick him up and kiss his belly? He couldn't even sit up by himself for his first portrait.

Antique English Christmas - New Year's Card
I framed my favorite card and photographed it through the glass to share with you. I preserved the inside of the card by affixing it to the back of the framed artwork.
The scene on the front is a small hand-colored lithograph of an old woman smoking a pipe and walking a pig through the snow. She is wrapped in a red shawl and has a basket of something on her back. There is a small cottage in the background with smoke coming out of the chimney. Maybe that is more firewood in the basket. The leash for the pet pig is nothing but a string tied in a bow around its hind leg.
Signed lower left: Ethel Parkinson
The caption hand lettered in gold says,
"MAY YE NIVER WANT AUGHT NOR A FRIEND TO SHARE IT WI YE"
The card is small, measuring 4.5" x 2.75" ~ see inside greeting below.

Mahatma Gandhi Objects Top $2 Million at auction . . .
Mahatma Gandhi's circa 1920 pocket watch, Gandhi's sandals, bowl, plate, glasses, and images of Gandhi with letters of authenticity realized $2,096,000 in New York City at Antiquorum Auctioneers' sale of important collectors' wristwatches, pocket watches and clocks on March 4 and 5, 2009.
The auction room was unusually overflowing with collectors, enthusiasts of horology and members of the press — curious to see the outcome of the bidding on Mahatma Gandhi's pocket watch and personal belongings.

Vintage Easter Postcards . . .
This one is my favorite! Which is yours?
My mother used to make new outfits for me (and my brother) until I got old enough to sew my own. After that I can remember being up late the night before putting the finishing touches on my creation and being somewhat sleepy in church on Easter Sunday. I was an expert seamstress from a young age and my clothes never looked homemade. I don't sew much now but I sometimes dream about it. Have a wonderful Good Friday and a great Easter (and Passover) weekend. The weather is supposed to be nice here. ♥Rosemary

Original 1845 Antique Folk Art Valentine . . .
Click to enlarge. I really can't make out the exact sentiment on this original Valentine glued in a memory book/lesson book from my collection. The lady's name was Pink. That name is inscribed on the tiny envelope in the man's hand. I just love the folky watercolor of the gentleman. This document was folded to fit in quite a small envelope 2" x 3-1/2". I wonder if it was presented in person as the watercolor depicts or if it was mailed?
Happy Valentine's Day.
