Einstein Quote about Fairy Tales

I have always loved this quote and today I discovered the perfect illustration!

æOnce upon a time the famous physicist Albert Einstein was confronted by an overly concerned woman who sought advice on how to raise her small son to become a successful scientist. In particular she wanted to know what kinds of books she should read to her son.
‘Fairy Tales,’ Einstein responded without hesitation.
‘Fine, but what else should I read to him after that?’ the mother asked.
‘More fairy tales,’ Einstein stated.
‘And after that?’
‘Even more fairy tales,’ replied the great scientist, and he waved his pipe like a wizard pronouncing a happy end to a long adventure. via

Einstein Quote with Bicycle

I added the text to this bicycle graphic and posted it on my blog in 2009. Albert Einstein was quite famous for riding his bicycle around Princeton.

Happy Pi Day

Click here if the video box doesn't load for you.

The town of Princeton, NJ goes all out for Pi Day every year. It's for math geeks in celebration of the equation 3.14 and it's also today's date 3/14.

YES to Boxwood in Pots Flanking Stairs

This looks amazing. I've never had luck with boxwood in cement pots. My zone must be too cold. These terra cotta pots wouldn't stand a chance either. They would blow up immediately. I still love the way this looks. The staff here can simply put them away to winter over in the greenhouse if this estate is in an unprotected cold zone. Sigh. via

The Whole Town of Princeton, NJ Celebrates Pi Day

I hope I remember to attend this affair in 2013!
Click on the link below to play the video. I embedded it but had to turn it off because it played automatically when my blog was opened whether you wanted it to or not! http://princeton.patch.com/articles/video-pi-day-princeton#video-9316131 I wish I had known about this the last weekend. I would have gone to Princeton to see what it Pi Day was all about. It's all about the math equation 3.14 -- remember that from high school? Princeton is the only town that can boast about the math genius Albert Einstein and his 20 year history there. More YouTube videos on this event here.

Be Glad When People Say No

I would have to agree with this. Something has to be almost impossible before I will ask for help. I love being able to do almost anything and everything myself. I'm fine as long as it doesn't have a motor, then I'm clueless.

Albert Einstein Favored The Simple Life

As I continue to clean and purge, organize and rethink, recycle and donate, downsize and resisist the urge to buy more, I am so very inspired by the clear thinking of Albert Einstein. ~Rosemary
