My Mother May 1979

H A P P Y   M O T H E R ' S   D A Y
I took this photo of my mother in May of 1979 after pulling off the road to photograph her walking in this field of daisies. Miss her every day since she passed 9-1/2 years ago (1920-2012). Nobody loves you like your mother.
She lives in my heart.♡

Have a wonderful day celebrating our mothers.

Happy Mother's Day, Rosemary. I had forgotten today was Mother's Day. I lost my mom 11 years ago, (in 2011), to Alzheimer's. She was a gem. You're right. No one loves you like your mother. The mother child relationship is special and precious. I still miss her and I think of her everyday.

My mother (1922-2015) would have looked just like yours in this picture because she often walked amongst flowers. My grandmother warned my father before their marriage that there might not be good food on their table but there would always be a vase full of flowers. She could burn a pie like nobody else. But above all she represented a generation of strong, intelligent and amazing women.

Beautiful photo. More potent as the years pass.

Have a long sleeve wool shirt like this, your mom makes me realize, need the summer version.

All the pockets, quite useful.

My Church made Mother's Day special. A delight seeing mom's honored.

Glad you shared the pic of your mom. Speaks of an era.

Kgearheard -- I have a long line of strong, independent women I looked up to growing up. They were intelligent and amazing too just like your mom. My mother always burned the beans and the toast but never the pies! Thanks for sharing your memories of your own mother. xo, Rosemary

Tara Dillard -- I hope you can find a short-sleeved Safari Jacket for summer. You can never have too many pockets, can you? I have a black linen one with roll-up sleeves and the tabs to keep them rolled up. My mother always looked nice in her clothes. Bittersweet memories. xo, Rosemary

That is the most lovely image of your dear Mother. Not a day passes without me "speaking" to my mom who has passed. It never gets easier missing them.
