AMAZING GRACE by Royal Scots Dragoon Guards 1972

I have never heard this rendition of Amazing Grace and it is wonderful. I love bagpipes and military band music as well. This recording topped the charts 50 years ago this month. Listen and enjoy.
Read the history behind this recording here. xo

What a beautiful rendition of "Amazing Grace." I was curious who wrote this song, and found it was John Newton (1770s). What an interesting story of how this song came to be. Newton was not religious. In fact, he was a slave trader. One day, when on board a ship, a terrible storm threatened his life and he begged God for mercy. That moment changed the direction of his life.

I wonder how many people have been soothed by this wonderful old hymn...
