A Jar of Tulips from A Friend

A friend dropped off a jar of tulips at my front door while I was out today. What a nice surprise to come home to.🌷
She planted 700 bulbs in raised beds. Sunday at Easter dinner she said she would drop some off for me. And she did.❤️

Coming home to fresh flowers is a treat! Beautiful color. I can't imagine planting that many tulip bulbs!

I love it when people are kind like that, the tulips are so pretty and in a jar no less. Perfect, I'd say.

How lovely! If you like them in this bud stage add a few pennies to the water. They will last longer. 🌷

500 tulip bulbs! My goodness! Send her over to my house, please. That was so sweet of her. I try to have fresh flowers in my house as much as possible. It's a bit of an indulgence, but it's so uplifting. I'm trying to get my garden up to snuff. It's a work in progress, but that's what makes it so satisfying - to see the subtle changes and improvements. You are nurturing nature, and in turn, nature nurtures you. Thank you, and thank her, for sharing.

I thought you said 500 bulbs, but when I reread your post, it was 700 bulbs! It sounds as if your friend has turned gardening into an extreme sport!

VintageDaisyDeb -- Thank you for teaching me how to make cut tulips last longer! I did not know you could add a few pennies to the water to keep them in the bud stage longer. Several were starting to open so I added 4 pennies to the jar and they closed up again. Thank you so much. I want this jar of beautiful tulips to last as long as possible. 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷xo, Rosemary
