Odd, this reminds me of large, beautiful, comfortable, glass walled entry way at skilled nursing Mom was at. After lunch we had the habit of me pushing Mom inside/outside portions of the HUGE Texas complex.
Many entryways at this facility, yet the glass walled entry was most enticing, comfortable and with entertainment. Would site Mom in her wheelchair, most advantageously to see everyone coming/going and their short visit with reception desk. I was comfortable on a sofa, facing Mom, thriving merely watching her be happy.
Comments made occasionally about others clothes, shoes, hair cuts, purses...all the banter of 'normal' life. Mom was good at 'clothes'. She's gone, bittersweet, the comments I get on how I dress. Had fought dressing well for decades, now it's default.
Gardens are best with 1 focal point/area. Entryways are major focal points, except, a garden can never have too many entryways. Better, there are no exits in a garden, only entryways.
Sweet, seeing all this in your Entryway post, aka story. Thanks!
Tara Dillard -- Tara, Thanks so much for your always interesting and informative comments. This one is a complete post! I enjoyed hearing about your last days with your dear mother and how you are now "becoming her" when you dress. Happy gardening now that spring has arrived. xo, Rosemary
I've also always loved an entryway. I don't wear shoes in my home (apartment now.) and it's amazing how much cleaner it stays. the Asians are and have always been definitely Onto something!
Carrie @ Cottage Cozy -- I'm glad you like my terminology for the space upon entering a home where you can hang up your coat and kick off your shoes before going into the main house. I agree, this one is especially nice. xo, Rosemary
tammy j and Diane Mars -- Not wearing shoes in the house really does cut down on cleaning. I love padding around the house in my sock feet. xo, Rosemary

Great entry. Love the tile floor. I'm guessing the entire home is wonderful.
Pam, The little peek we got confirms your suspicions about the rest of the house being wonderful. I think it probably is too. xo, Rosemary

I love the term "decompression zone" - for both physically and mentally! lol
That is a very pretty zone.
