I could live on the main floor of that cottage except I want upper cupboards not open shelves.

What a sweet cottage. Great porches. I have to agree with Linda and you, about having upper cabinets rather than open shelving. I try to keep a tidy home, but the truth is, I sometimes fill my cabinets to the max. There's no way I could get by with that on open shelves...nobody wants to see that!
Pam, If you don't have a food storage pantry the kitchen cabinets will be used for canned goods, baking supplies, and other things that are better behind closed doors. I buy certain things in bulk when they are on sale and store the overflow in my basement when my cabinets are filled. I do love open shelves for collections if they aren't needed for storage. xo, Rosemary
