I am watching on Tubi
The aristocratic Detective Chief Inspector Alleyn and his Scotland Yard assistants investigate a series of crimes with the detective moving casually through the world of high society. Each episode is a complete murder case that is solved so you can watch and not have to keep up with the previous episode. DCI Alleyn wears the most beautiful double-breasted suits and he is never disheveled. He's very well educated with impeccable manners and a keen eye for detail. His love interest, an artist named Troy, is in every episode.
Please note that the lead actor that plays Alleyn in episode one is replaced by another actor in all the subsequent episodes. When BBC picked up the pilot the actor from Season 1, Episode 1 was not available. This confused me no end so I will spare you from wondering what happened.
Brenda recommended this series in the comments below my post about MONARCH OF THE GLEN. I finished that series and LOVED it and now I am loving Inspector Alleyn Mysteries. It is free on Tubi. I think it's on Amazon Prime too and maybe YouTube. I promise you will like it.

A bit of fan trivia: Did you know that the actress who plays Troy is married (in real life) to the actor Huge Fraser who played Capt. Hastings on Poirot. Love those BBC actors.
You might also like Campion and Lord Peter Wimsey. Both are BBC productions. There are two different productions of Lord Peter, the first starring Ian Carmichael and the second starring Edward Petherbridge
Thanks for the link, Rosemary! I just started watching an episode and already know I like it. Before we moved and got so busy helping with our granddaughters, I'd planned to sign up for Acorn, because I like British programming. This should fill the bill for me, though. Whenever I do have a bit of time, I can watch (and no recurring monthly bill to pay ;)). Hope you have a good weekend.
Pam -- I'm glad you like TUBI too. I'm finding wonderful things to watch there that I don't have on Acorn. I finished the Inspector Alleyn series and now I'm looking for another series to watch. Will keep you posted when I find one. xo, Rosemary
Rosemary, I’m glad that you’re enjoying this series. I’ve read two of the Ngaio Marsh books and the tv shows are different but I find them interesting on their own. LOVE the clothes and the settings. I was really sorry that there weren’t more seasons made. Eileen, thank you for that tidbit about Troy and Capt. Hastings. I think she is perfect as Troy. Hugh Fraser is my favorite narrator of Agatha Christie’s books. He is fabulous at voices and accents. Thank goodness my library carries so many of them!
Another series I’ve enjoyed on Tubi is ‘The Darling Buds of May’. At first I didn’t think it would appeal to me and now I just love it. The stories and characters are delightful. It’s also on Amazon.
Brenda -- Thank you so much for another recommendation on Tubi. I have bookmarked "The Darling Buds of May"

I'm sure Eileen in Fla. will appreciate the additional information about Hugh Fraser. xo, Rosemary
Eileen in Fla. and Brenda -- I just found the most interesting about the married couple Belinda Lang and Hugh aka Troy and Hastings.

It's a good read with photographs. Enjoy! xo, Rosemary
Rosemary, thanks for the link. What a horrible childhood Ms. Lang had. I’m glad she and Hugh Fraser found each other.
Brenda -- She certainly deserves the happiness she found with Hugh doesn't she? I thought you would like to know since you were the one to tell us about the marriage of this couple. xo, Rosemary
