Lovely Porch

Old houses with porches are always fun viewing and this one is the perfect place to sit and chat without being is direct sun. I'm a shade lover myself. Have a great weekend and check back later for a dahlia photo. xo

As promised, here's another dahlia with one of my roosters in the background. I still enjoy watching the buds open, making every day a treat. I'm glad they aren't opening all at once. xo

It's perfect, and I love how they left the porch ceiling unpainted, so that you can see the beautiful wood.

Porches are a wonderful addition to a house. Years ago, we owned a home that had been built by an 80-plus-year-old woman. She had built a front porch, and north and south stoops off a big breezeway. She had chairs at each location so she could move around with her cup of tea, throughout the day. I loved that home--probably because that sweet old gal had lived a long life and knew what mattered! The world definitely needs more porches!

Love the Dahlia, and love your rooster, Rosemary.

Love the photos. Dahlias are the most thrilling plant to grow. Every day brings new joy.

Deb -- I looked at your dahlias and yours are gorgeous. So are your cats and your vegetable gardens. People who visit you are so lucky because they walk away with a dahlia bouquet. xo, Rosemary
