If you happen to find yourself in the Lake District, be sure to visit Beatrix Potter's house. Large view of the photo below and more photos in this Lake District link. Enjoy your virtual visit. xo
Oh how I would love to visit this beautiful area of the world. This property reminds me a bit of Tasha Tudor's property in Vermont...lush with what some might think are overgrown plants. I looked through all the pictures online & thought at first that the one with the snow was a watercolor painting. Breathtaking!
Anita ~ the cabin on the creek -- Anita, I have never been to the Lake District either but I always enjoy my armchair travels there and to Tasha Tudor's Vermont property too. xo, Rosemary
Years ago, while Tasha was still alive, a friend gave me as a Christmas gift tickets for us to go on the garden tour of three generations of Tudors. It is one of my best memories! All of the gardens were so beautiful & interesting, but they were in stages that corresponded to the gardeners who had them. Tasha's was the oldest & so impressive, but the middle age garden & the new garden owned by her son & grandson were equally beautiful as well.
I must say all the books show Tasha's gardens realistically. It is a blessing to have the wonderful pictures online these days. And thank you for doing the legwork to find so many of these treasures for us to enjoy.
Thank you for these beautiful pictures! That house is almost as covered with greenery as mine! I love it when the plants want to come in! So I let them!!!
What a magical place. I can imagine Beatrix wandering around her gardens and being inspired by them. Thanks for transporting us, far and wide, Rosemary. Travel from my armchair is my favorite, too!
