Tasha Tudor Hanging Laundry (1940)

That's an awfully small basket. It must be for the clothes pins. Maybe she came out to take the laundry down. I adore hanging clothes out in the sun to dry. Have a wonderful Easter weekend. xo

If my calculations are correct, she would have been about 25 in that picture. She had a tumultuous family life, and alienated herself from many people including some of her own children. But bottom line, she was her own woman, as they say, and an extremely talented artist.

Mama Pea -- I know all about her children fighting over her estate and have blogged about it. https://contentinacottage.blogspot.com/2010/02/children-fight-over-illustrator-tasha.html
I loved a book written by her daughter Bethany entitled DRAWN FROM NEW ENGLAND all about growing up with Tasha Tudor with your mother. I love your comments. Keeping to herself, she continued to be content with her corgi dogs and her artwork and storytelling.
