Lovely Entryway with Wide Wallpaper Border

I love everything in this photo from Martha Stewart. Almost all the woodwork in my cottage is painted the color of the wide horizontal paneled wall with pegs. Don't you adore the wide wallpaper border? Leave it to Martha to have a tray for gardening and dog-walking shoes under the bench.

I really like this entryway and I've always appreciated Martha Stewart's commitment to doing things well. Many years ago, when my father's health started to decline, he was forced to spend more time resting. One of his favorite tv programs was Martha Stewart. He'd listen to every word she said. I think my mom was a little bit jealous of his devotion to Martha. Dad always said she was probably the hardest working person on television, and I would not doubt that!

Pam -- Martha would be excited to hear about your dad's devotion to her show. I agree with him about how hard she works; she's tireless and still inspiring. This entryway is a winner.

That wide border simply makes the entryway!

Mamma Pea -- It does. The whole entrance was designed around it, especially the height of the paneled wall with the shelf on top.

Do you happen to remember the name of the lovely green paint color? I feel the need to paint something.

Eileen in Fla. -- My paint color is Bennington Gray by Benjamin Moore. It is a real chameleon color that looks has other tones in different light. It is really a putty color. This paint color might also be Quincey Tan by Benjamin Moore. Both of these choices are in their Historical Color Charts. Have fun painting.
