Flicker Family ~ Beautiful Birds

I had two families of Flickers on my property this summer. I love these large colorful birds. I wish I could have seen their tree nesting spots and I was thrilled to discover this photo today. Both couples brought their babies to feed in my back yard and drink from my birdbaths. I feel confident they will return next year. xo

Beautiful birds! Rosemary, I know they like to build their nests in hollowed out areas of trees--just as pictured here. If you happen to have those types of trees, you might be able to locate their nesting spots.

This is a wonderful photograph. I don't believe I've ever seen this variety of birds. It may not be found in Southern California. Thanks for always sharing, your posts always make me smile.
