Kitchen Opening to Family Room with Fireplace

I think this room arrangement is better than having a fireplace in the kitchen. It's the best of both worlds having it overlook the family room. Love it all, don't you? designed by Amelia T. Handegan, Inc. Interiors Charleston, SC.

What a great layout for entertaining friends and family! The cook wouldn't be isolated. What an easy flow from those in the kitchen to those the family room! And, yes, being able to see and enjoy the fireplace from the kitchen . . . perfect. I'll take it, please.

Mama Pea -- My thoughts exactly. This is a well thought out house plan remembering the cook. xo, Rosemary

Not only does the close fireplace offer beauty, but it's amazing how much heat some fireplaces generate. Nothing compares with a wood fire! I also love the pale yellow of the kitchen walls and outer cabinets. Haven't seen too many yellow kitchens, lately, but I've always liked the cheer they bring!

It's lovely. I would like it because I always get so hot while working in the kitchen. I wouldn't like a fireplace in the kitchen, but one that is within sight in an adjacent room would be divine. It looks very inviting.

Yes, I sure don't need extra heat in the kitchen when I'm working in there! I like the opening into the living room, not a fully "open plan" which I think are too open. And that sweet corner cabinet that's glass on both sides...yes, please!

Everyone had such great reviews of this space. Now if I could be in this space daily I would like to be on the sofa by the fire while someone else did all the cooking. Of course I would happily converse because we so easily could. I do love that kitchen flooring. You know, after 56 years of cooking I'm ready to retire, unfortunately that is not going to happen.
