Morning Dove Nesting

I'm so happy to see what a Mourning Dove nest looks like. Look closely, there are two youngsters in the nest with the mom. I have these birds in my spruce grove and I love them. I cleaned out their favorite watering container today and they will be happy tomorrow. Flickr photo by Taggartim

Oh my! We have a pair nesting in a hanging pot of lantana. This is the third brood this season.

I love mourning doves. They make the sweetest coo.

Morning Doves are such pretty birds. I love the coo-coo-coo noise that they make.

I adore these doves, too! We have had them nest in pots.....once in a window box! They are so sweet and gentle...and I love the little noise they make. Sometimes people mistake them for owls! but owls sleep all day.....and only make noises at night!
what a comfort these animals are in this difficult time.

Beautiful birds and terrific mothers! I've never studied them, but we've had several nesting moms in large evergreen shrubs near our house. We have a grove of pines and spruces near our home, too. Maybe that attracts them. Yours are lucky to have your care.

So sweet! I smiled when I read Penelope's comment because, when I was very young ,I thought I was hearing an owl! xo

She looks to be a beauty and very plump and comfortable in her nest. I don't think we have Morning Doves where I live now, lots of Robins and humming birds though.
