Yes, they are. Is this typically the time of year when pine cones bloom? Since we've had to become so fire wise here in northern California, many pine trees have been removed because they burn hot and fast. So sad.
Gorgeous!! These are especially beautiful with the contrasting color. Our Blue Spruces get tiny, deep pink pinecones in their early stages of growth. SO PRETTY!!!
Thank you everyone for commenting on this lovely photo. I have pinecones on my property that sometimes fall unopened but they are always brown. I have never seen them in a green state. I recently read somewhere that it takes 7 years for pinecones to form. They are a treasure. I am enjoying a lazy rainy Sunday. xo, Rosemary
