Happy Friday

Yesterday afternoon in my poppy patch.

Here is the same flower showing the beautiful black center in portrait mode. I'll try to find something else to post today besides poppies! See you later. xo

Oh goodness, I have "poppy envy"!!! I've tried to grow poppies for decades. Once every 10 years or so, they come up en masse and give me a great show. Alas, I wait another 9 years to sprout another nice stand of poppies. I LOVE annual Peony Poppies (named thus because of their huge, "peony-type" bloom).

hron -- Marcia, I'm not taking any chances on mine coming back by themselves. I'm going to save the seeds and replant in early spring. You should buy some Peony Poppy seeds and do the same if you love them so. Ten years is too long to wait.

Your poppies are just stunning - you must have the right combination of sun and water not to mention a very green thumb!

SuSu -- I think I picked the perfect spot for my poppy seeds. My mother had a green thumb and was always rooting something so I get it from her.
