All I can say is, Holy Moses! That is one gorgeous, stupendous home. (I'm not sure you can disclose this information, but by any chance is it in the Far Hills, NJ area?)

What a gorgeous area you live in! It is like the old America! Rolling fields, woods, and some of the most beautiful architecture! All in New Jersey! Kind of a secret!
Is Bernardsville nearby?

What a gorgeous, gorgeous place! I hope it won't be subdivided!

Penelope Bianchi -- Penny, The Somerset Hills area is so gorgeous. I went through Bernardsville and Far Hills to get to this gorgeous estate in Peapack NJ. Jackie Kennedy had a house there too and enjoyed the low-key equestrian lifestyle this area provided then and still does. I never miss an opportunity to tour the grand mansions still in private hands.

lisa -- Yes, this estate is adjacent to Far Hills. It's in Peapack. Also called Peapack-Gladstone, NJ. Two slleepy looking, tiny, old fashioned towns next to each other with separate post offices. Blink when you drive through and you've missed the "downtown" areas. The hills are home to some grand hidden estates.

Pam -- It was a treat indeed. I was the first to arrive and visit with my friend the listing agent I've known for about 40 years. I had the whole house to myself for a while and it was grand. Now if I could only find a buyer!

That house and property is astounding! I agree that it looks dang good for being 90 years old! Out of curiosity, how many millions is it? (I shudder to think of how much it takes to maintain per year!) I hope the owners put provisions in their listing to keep it intact.

Does the listing show any add'l pics of the home? I'd LOVE to see the inside. Lucky you to have a chance to peruse it at your leisure!

Maggy -- The MLS number is 3557788 or you can google:
Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Peapack-Gladstone NJ
and look for the one priced $7,900,000

Oh Rosemary, sell that and you can retire! Ha!

Betty -- Exactly! I always go to these gilded age mansions in hopes I can find a buyer. You never know, do you? I have decided this one would make a wonderful boarding school.

My favorite part of this palatial estate is the grounds and landscaping surrounding it. I've never ever wanted a home this large. Just thinking of the upkeep leaves me exhausted but I loved looking inside.
