Chicken Wire Wallpaper

I photographed this wall in an eat-in kitchen  last week when I toured a cozy farmhouse cottage on an estate. Don't you just love this chicken wire wallpaper and the star sconces? Click photo to enlarge photo for the best viewing experience. Happy Friday!

Had never seen the wallpaper but I have a quilting fabric with chicken wire design!

It definitely has a downhome farm feel to it; charming in the right setting, I'm sure. As long as we're thinking of farms, I have to share a painting I think you'll appreciate. The Rare Books Dept of the Phila Free Library posted it today on fb, and I saw it soon after I happened to listen to a Greg Brown song that seemed to fit it perfectly.
Here's a link to the Brandywine River Museum for the painting:

And the song you need to play while you admire the painting

The museum link gives a bit of info about the painting. I'm guessing she has the stove cranked up high. Maybe it will be a peach cobbler, with cream.

And just because someone shared this video about artist Rich Kehl with me today, I feel compelled to share it, too. Apropos of nothing.

You might appreciate the way he stores his books so neatly.

justaweecatnap -- I followed all your links and enjoyed them very much. Back in the early 1970s through the 1980s I spent my summers canning and then I stopped. I can still remember eating my grandmothers canned peaches with homemade ice cream. Her store room was full of her jams, jellies, preserves and canned goods. I helped peel things whenever she called. Freezing is so much easier now.
