Topiary Perfection

Could anything be more lovely? I think not. The house. The walk. The clipped topiaries. Perfection. via

It certainly is lovely. How I long to have an old stone house like this, with the topiary garden!

This image is so peaceful to gaze upon. This is what perfection looks like.

all the plants so healthy . . . I dare not even think about the boxwood blight now here in Virginia.

Linda -- I think we have that blight in New Jersey too. I hope it doesn't kill mine.

My preliminary search for solutions for the blight are not encouraging : sanitize garden tools & shoes and change gloves as you move from plant to plant!. Rather like putting the entire garden under quarantine! Don't compost boxwood clippings. Only drip irrigate. There is a known fungicide but in order for it to be effective it must be applied to ALL leaf and stem surfaces - tough for a home gardener to achieve. And, of course, introduce no new plants even if they appear to be healthy.

It looks to me like they have all been freshly trimmed, heavenly.

I have some planted in my yard but not quite sure how they are going to do. I've had to come to terms with the fact that much of what I've grown in the past in the East simply will not do well out here in the West in a desert climate with extremes of hot dry summers and snowy cold winters.
