heritage51 -- I don't feed the birds. I did when I first moved in my cottage but don't now because the birdseed attracts bears. My across the street neighbors quit too when their feeder was destroyed by a bear. They bought a motion camera and saw him in action. Hopefully all the bears are still in hibernation but you never know. xo, Rosemary
