Wonderful Painting: Halloween Perfection

Cat in the Moonlight, (Chat au Clair de Lune) c. 1900, Theophile-Alexandre Steinlen via

I love this painting. It's perfect for this time of year with a big yellow moon in the sky casting shadows every night. The artist had a great fascination with cats. See more of his works here and keep scrolling, the page of cats is positively endless!

Theophile-Alexandre, you are amazing.

Over 100 years old. Does the painting still exist? In a private collection? A museum?

Such are the questions over my first cup of tea this morning. thank you, Rosemary.

Rosemary, What a delightful picture! Black cats and spooky trees, both underappreciated. Thank you for this posting.

Well, I looked at a lot of his CAT art but I don't think I viewed all of them. He was prolific, obviously the cat was his muse.

This is definitely my favorite for this month....Bwa hahahahaha.
