My New Haircut

I got a haircut today and I am very pleased. I have been letting my layers grow out. This is a blunt cut with the ends beveled so they turn under naturally. A friend recommended the stylist at Supercuts in Morristown and I will definitely go back. She gave me the precision cut I have longed for but nobody else could pull it off. You know I have to be pleased to pose for a selfie. xo
UPDATE: I just found this adorable post about a little girl and how she feels about her first haircut. Watch. I promise you will love it.

Kay G. -- Thank you. I usually come home from a haircut and stick my head under the faucet but not today. I actually liked my haircut. I will go back more often now that my layers have grown out. Go ahead and do some selfies. If you don't like them you can delete them.

Christine -- It is a classic hair style as you well know since you have it too. But not every stylist can do it. I show the same photos of what I want before I get my haircut and this is the first time I have been pleased when I walked out the door.

You look wonderful! I'm in the process of growing out layers, but I'm probably 4-6 months away from the goal! I'll bet you're relieved and happy to have found a hairdresser that pleases you. It sounds like this haircut shouldn't require too much effort...is that possible??? Very happy for you, Rosemary!

Looks great! This is one reason I cut my own hair - no one can seem to pull off what I want!

I've been going to the same hairdresser for 20+ years. I told her the other day, "You can NEVER retire. Not ever." ;-)

Rosemary: this new cut is most becoming. I'm so very happy for you. The power of a good cut never can be underestimated.

You look wonderful! That is a very flattering style for you! I have always said: a good hairdresser is worth his/her weight in GOLD!!! So hard to find a really good one who "gets" your look!

Vickie H. -- With my luck, my new hairdresser will move. Oh, how I hope not. A lot of my natural wave returned overnight and I still like the cut.

Linda -- Thank you. You are so right about the power of a good haircut. My hair has a mind of its own and it takes a cutter who is really good to tame it.

Gail, northern California -- I can understand your not wanting her to ever retire. If she does, maybe she will be near you and you can come to her house for a haircut. I can't believe you have been going to her for over 20 years. She must be a treasure.

Jeannine. -- I know what you mean. I used to cut my own hair but haven't done so in 4 haircuts. The back is really hard. Maybe you too will find THE ONE one day.

Pam....Growing out layers and growing out bangs take a lot of time. Luckily, I had long layers from a haircut about 3 months ago. You live and learn. One length works best for me. I will go more often now that I have someone I trust. Good luck with your growing pains. :)

Julianna Maricelli -- Thank you. I don't often take selfies but this one needed to be recorded. I should have taken a before photo but it would not have had a smile. :)

That's a good look for you. I hope that stylist stays around. Somehow I missed the hints that my stylist would be moving so I didn't get her contact information.

Linda Sand -- Oh, Linda. The next time I go for a cut, I am going to get my stylist's cell phone number. That way I can track her down if she moves. I hope you can track yours down too.

Great cut. Enjoy!!

Rebecca -- Thank you. It looks a lot shorter since my natural wave has kicked in but I still like it.

Stacey Snacks -- Thanks, Stacey. I still like it after shampooing it myself with very little styling required.

Rosemary, a good haircut makes one fill like a million bucks, okay may a thousand. But the trick is finding someone the gets one's hair. I've moved 18 times and finding a good hair stylist and a good babysitter were two of the bigger moving challenges. I don't need babysitters anymore but I still have to go through the pains of finding a good stylist. As you know we've been out west for 2 years now, I''ve gone through 7 different stylist. The one I have now is better than the previous 6 but still not GREAT. I have a number for a new one that I will try in 4 weeks. I hope your's sticks around for a while. You look "Simply Marvelous Dahling" with your new do.
