I couldn't agree more.
"They are much to be pitied who have not been given a taste for nature early in life. Jane Austen. via
Here is another Envy Zinnia. It looks more like a Dahlia and is quite different from my last Envy post. I am so pleased my seed packet contained more than one variety. They don't seem to mind the numerous fierce rainstorms or the intense heat. The are still standing straight and tall. They don't need to be babied and I like that! xo

beautiful, the zinia and quote, have a nice day, blessings!
Gorgeous zinnia! So glad to hear that they're not bothered by bad weather. Austen's quote brought back memories of my dear grandmother, taking me by the hand as a little girl, and telling me the names of all her flowers and garden plants. She lived very simply and nature brought her much pleasure. I'm thankful that she gave me "a taste for nature early in life!"
Zinnias are such stalwart flowers, surviving particularly very hot weather and hanging in there till the very end of summer. I can't wait to plant this variety next year. Once again your photo is stunning and dear Jane... well she had such sensible wisdom, thank goodness she shared it. You can never go wrong quoting Jane.
