Antiques in My Kitchen

I got a a new toy yesterday and had to test it out after Amazon delivered it at 9:00 last night. It was a device to clip on my iPhone so I could use my tripod. It was a little awkward but I think I am going to like it. It's good for composing what you want in a photo and getting it right the first time.

You've seen my tall case clock and my pantry many times (first photo).

My huntboard is in a recessed nook in my kitchen (second photo) and I've photographed it many times for my blog.

I don't think I've ever shown you a much wider kitchen view with a corner of my farm table and my refrigerator (third photo).

Stay cool in this heatwave if you are having one too. For some reason, the heat doesn't seem to bother me as much as it used to. I guess having grown up in the deep south with no air conditioning has made me realize you can survive it if you know the ropes and try not to think about it.

Enjoy getting ready for July 4th. xo

Thanks for sharing the lovely pictures of your home! Stay cool. We're still in the 60s this AM in the Pacific Northwest!

Always love to see any and all pictures of your lovely home. Most often they look like ones straight out of a magazine. Such wonderful decorating taste you have, Rosemary.

Your home's aesthetic makes my heart sing. Your possessions seem so well thought out, with nothing extraneous, everything fits exactly as it should. So very restful and inviting. Thank you for sharing. These photos are always welcome and enjoyed!

How old is your beautiful home?

Mama Pea -- Thank you for your kind compliments. I try very hard to use furnishings that are the correct scale for my cottage.

Vickie H. -- I moved in slowly and most of the furniture from my previous home fit just where I had planned......except my clock. I just assumed it would fit in my living room. Wrong. I had never measured the ceiling height and just assumed they were eight feet. But they are 7'8" and my clock was too tall. I actually love it in my kitchen and thankfully I had the height there. The kitchen area had a very low attic over it that was too low to stand up in so I decided to do a cathedral ceiling. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to use my clock at all and I ended up really liking my clock next to the pantry.
Thanks for liking my arrangements.

helene -- My cottage was built by the previous owner in the late 1930s so it's almost 80 years old.

GrandmaGrits -- You are welcome. I am glad you enjoyed a peek. Your weather sounds wonderful. It is still extremely hot here in New Jersey. I try not to depend on central air and hold off as long as I can before turning it on and then I love having it.

Rosemary, every nook and cranny is welcoming and filled with lovelies. Thank you for bringing us in for the holiday while it was too hot to be outdoors.

Linda -- I am glad to hear you like my country kitchen. It looks nice when I make the effort to clean all the clutter from my farm table. I got a spurt of cleaning energy earlier this week in spite of the heat and everything is spiffy again. Hope you had a great Fourth of July.

What a surprise! Yes, you have photographed your beautiful antique hunt board many times but this wider view gives an entirely new perspective. I had no idea it was placed so close to your kitchen. Every nook and cranny of your cottage is a visual treat and it's always a delight when you share it with us. You have a wonderful natural ability at curating and displaying all your treasures to the best advantage. I think the new phone tripod was a good buy at least from what I'm viewing.
