I must have good hunting on my property because he keeps coming back. This beautiful red fox stood here and listened to what was going on under the snow before he gave up and moved on for better hunting in the woods. Today he isn't falling through the snow as there must be a frozen layer that formed last night. I love his black stockings. Have a great week and let's hope Nor'easter #3 doesn't come my way or yours. xo

What a beautiful fox! And you caught him in such a great pose. You can almost see his wheels spinning, wondering if he can snag a meal beneath the snow. They are interesting to watch, and much more visible when there's snow on the ground. We have a den of red foxes along our creek, in a well protected spot. My mother-in-law discovered it, at least 30 years ago, while she was out for a walk. To this day, red foxes use that same den. Amazing.

He's so pretty. I can't believe how lucky you were to have caught him out during the day. I'm guessing searching for food in snowy weather must be challenging. Thanks for sharing your visit of one of nature's beautiful creatures.
He is so beautiful and I love those black legs. We have lots of fox here on Cape Cod and I love seeing them. I cringe when I remember that they are killed for their coats.
And I miss your mother and your animals. Webster was such a great dog. Will you ever get another dog? You should tell him he/she will become famous on Mom's blog! Your mother seemed to be such a sweet lady. I was not blessed that way so I really enjoyed reading your posts about her.
Here on the Cape we are getting 12+ inches of snow! Yikes! Hope you are safe and warm in your cottage - I am!
