Oh my...don't you wonder what type of craftsman designed and created such a beautiful door latch? It's really a work of art. Makes me want to see the rest of the home!

We have some old fashioned door knobs we use as wall features.

Lovely. I've seen decorative knobs but never a latch plate like that.

Mama Pea -- I follow someone on Instagram who collects this type of hardware, if you want to see more: https://www.instagram.com/atlasandthebutcher/

Pam....How nice. Those decorative knobs on a wall would be good to hang in a hallway as coat hooks.

Franny and Danny -- I posted a comment for you but used the wrong follower's name. Your old decorative knobs on a wall must be beautiful.

Pam -- I am fairly certain the whole house is probably full of more beautiful door hardware like this.

I so wish things were still made with real brass and fine craftsmanship. Though the cost would be prohibitive.

Thanks for posting this. Lots to ponder here. Thanks for the Instagram note--I certainly don't have enough Instagrammers to follow because there are a whole 16 hours in the day I could devote to that. And I'm well on my way to that end. Something as simple as this photo, though, is the yang to the dark yin that comes through the news feeds.
