This is not a trophy kitchen. It looks like one from a real family with dishes in the sink, essentials on the window sill, an almost empty roll of paper towels, and other interesting things. I like it, don't you?
I do like it. I have to say it makes me want to do the dishes, but what I like most about it is the bright window over the sink. I have a thing for a kitchen with a view over the sink. I stand at my sink so much during each day and I love looking out. I look out that window ten times as much as any other in the house :)
I love the 'real' of it. So many beautiful kitchens looked staged and unreal for most of us! I'm looking at less of the 'perfects' this year and focusing on being grateful for what I've been blessed with, so much more than I deserve. Thanks for sharing this, and I love the kitchen here.
I would love that sink, that window and a bunch more but I would neaten the heck out of it. I like to neaten rooms and tweak their look to make them more serene.
Even though we only get a glimpse, it looks like this kitchen has great, classic style. It is definitely being used, which is okay, too. I lean toward liking things neat, but this pic tells a story.
This brings delight with realisms: no curtains to block the light; thinking the owner(s) must be on good terms with the neighbors; reminds me of a kitchen I saw while on a tour of lovely, traditional vintage homes in Old Towne Alexandria, VA years ago. While the owner painstakingly had attached springs of English boxwood to the lower mullions within a window of many which overlooked a garden, they neglected to put away a very large open bag of ordinary dog food.
I love it, very much. The home we have been in for 25 years does not have a sink by the window and I have always missed that. It's a great large sink which I like and a wonderful view.
I love this, it is real and so refreshing to see REAL in a blog photo instead of pristine perfection. All those doodads on the window sill must have meaning and bring joy to the owner. I would dearly love a window like this over a sink, I would also love a white porcelain farm sink alas I have neither. Yep, no window over my builders grade stainless steel sink so I have hung two small oil landscapes over my sink, they bring me joy and a sense that I'm looking outdoors. At the end of the day I like to leave the kitchen clean and orderly, maybe this owner does too.
I think I maxed out on the number of times I could use the word sink in this comment.
