Glass Jar Love

This collection of glass jars in so many shapes and sizes makes me happy. I have been using French glass refrigerator storage containers since 1973. It just made good sense to me back then and I never fell into the tupperware trap. via

Be still my heart! I've passed this gene on to my daughters, too. One even got her backpack searched in NYC at the airport as she flew home a few years ago due to a small, empty jar that had previously had yogurt in it! She and I still have the jars, plus many others. I love the old blue ones, too, and even the new reproductions. Thanks for sharing this picture!

Good for you! We have been gradually adding the glass and ditching the plastic.

I confess, I have an inability to throw out any good glass. Jars, bottles. Does anyone need little brown bottles with eyedroppers?

I think all of these jars are German Weck canning jars. My favorites!

Smart Lady! Except for a couple I use to take to the church, I only use glass also.

The display is a pretty one.

I so enjoy your posts!

Marion. You are right, all of these are Weck canning jars. I did not realize they were German. I have never owned any of these. I think people hold on to them dearly, and I will probably never find one at a thrift shop. I honestly don't need any more anyway! Thanks for refreshing my memory on the name of this beautiful collection of glass jars!
