I adore this photo and would love to know more about this tiny Scottish Highlands Cottage with its stone steps and steep stone walls. The stone mason who constructed it certainly knew what he was doing, and it has stood the test of time. via
everything about it says "strength." The chunky, planted-forever form, one shoulder to the hillside, a steep stair not for the faint of heart. Love it.
Linda. Well Said. Do you think this is a place where shepherds can weather a storm or is it a full-time dwelling? I can't imagine climbing those steep steps with no railing much less building them. Almost all of the stone houses being built in the towns around me are stone veneer over plywood that will fail when moisture gets in between. I love this little cottage that will be there for centuries to come. xo, Rosemary
Kit -- There is something blue just to the right of the stone wall. It might be the sea. The placement of the house was well thought out. Protection from the wind is a good point. I love it too. xo, Rosemary
