Americana Christmas Tree

I thought I would be anxious to start taking down my Christmas decorations now that Christmas has passed but I'm not. I think I'll wait until New Year's Day. This tree is nice. via Here's hoping all of your celebrations were as nice as the one I attended at a friend's new home.

We've always left our Christmas tree up until New Year's Day. I don't know how this family tradition began in our home - maybe we were all just exhausted after Christmas, and the week between Christmas and January 1st was a time for us to just sit back and enjoy it.

As you know, I am a faithful follower of your blog, Rosemary, and I want to thank you for another year of your enjoyable posts. Merry Christmas and a Happy 2018.

Me, too, Rosemary. I'm far from ready to remove the trimmings. In fact, it seems during this calm there is more time to enjoy them.

Love seeing small American flags on a Christmas tree. I added a few to our ornaments after seeing this for the first time several years ago. All the traditions accumulated over time make for a lovely Christmas "stew" as my good friend just wrote.

Beautiful tree! We have never taken our tree down before January 6th the Feast of the Three Kings. I think it is nice to enjoy it for a while after the hustle of Christmas.
