The Dressing Room in My Cottage

I have photographed this room before but not this view. The table is at the foot of the antique bed. All of the floors in this wing of the cottage are painted this color, the hall and the smaller bedroom where I sleep. That room has no closet. So now you have another small peek into my home. It rained all morning but cleared up nicely by late afternoon.
I didn't watch Masterpiece last night but recorded it for later in the week. I am on the very last Season of MI-5 and should finish tomorrow. I am going to miss the best espionage thriller I have ever seen. I am so lucky to have such a good library chocked full of DVDs to entertain me. There is almost nothing on regular TV these days that holds my interest. The BBC Video productions have me thoroughly spoiled! See you soon. xo

Beautiful room! Noticed what looks like a radiator, and I wondered how old your cottage is.

nothing I love better than a well done room. I also loved MI5, but don't know if I have seen it all. They stopped carrying it on my PBS. I love Acorn tv that is all British and Australian shows.

I agree, there is nothing on TV, makes me wonder why I pay Dish every month. Appreciate your suggestions on programs. MI5 I started when you mentioned it. I also recorded about the Masterpiece=Bronte sisters. Watched it tonight, lost my hubby though, he went into other room to make some phone calls. It nearly lost me about 1/2 way through, didn't understand it, disjointed, but then it finally got going and it was over!!! Such talent and they died so young. Thanks for sharing your home and viewing - Paula-Windmill Farm

Hi Rosemary, I love seeing photos of your cottage, which I love! I also appreciate your recommendations for TV viewing :) I don't know if you caught the recent show on PBS called A Poet in New York? It was a stunning portrayal of Dylan Thomas' visits to NY in the 50s (as well as some flashbacks to his earlier life) and his tragically early death. I highly recommend it. Tom Hollander plays Thomas. I had never heard of him, but am now watching one of his BBC series called Rev. on Amazon and am loving that, too. MI-5 is on my list :)
Thanks for sharing your cottage and your life!

Kathy -- Thank you. My cottage was built in the late 1930s and I am the second owner. I love radiator heat. The two in my kitchen and the one in my bathroom are decorative. I am not a fan of forced hot air. My radiators stay hot for a long time after I turn down the thermostat.

Jane -- You probably have not seen all ten seasons of MI-5. The first one aired in 2002 and the last one ended in 2011. I have no idea when PBS carried it here in the USA.

BarbV -- Barbara, the program about Dylan Thomas sounds great. I'll look for it. Thanks. I don't belong to any of the streaming services that cost money. My library carries popular Netflex program and almost everything that is BBC. I find it very upsetting that CBS is going this route too.

Windmill Farm -- Paula, I will watch the Bronte Sisters sometime this week. I really want to more about their short lives. It certainly is getting mixed reviews!

tammy j -- Yes, they all still live in my heart.
I agree completely with you about PBS being about the only channel that almost never disappoints. I love watching DVDs with no commercials. They are the best!

I agree about radiators, Rosemary. I've lived in one home with radiators and one with baseboard steam heat. I actually like the clanking sound that some radiators make. Your home is very charming! Thank you for sharing it through photos.

All the elements are lovely . . . the floors, draperies, furnishings, colors, antiques . . . and say "come in this is another of Rosemary's feel good spaces." Thanks for the peek.

I'm enjoying "Billions". Two men matching wits instead of fists.
